Rob is a certified Marine Technician with over 32 years experience working in the marine industry. He has knowledge and experience in all aspects of power and sail boats. Rob has been sailing since he was 7 years old, so it is only fitting that he has chosen a career working in the marine industry.
I (Kim) have over 28 years working in the marine industry. I have been sailing for 29 years, but have been around boats my whole life.
Both Rob an I love the sea, boats and everything marine. One might say we are nautically obsessed.
Over the years we have live aboard many different sizes of sailboats from 27′ to our currant boat at 42′.
Our boat is a 1987 42′ Jerry Cartwright custom built center cockpit cutter rig sailboat. We purchased her on Dec 24th, 2006 as a project. She was on the hard for over 5 years and needed a lot of work. We re-powered her with a new Isuzu engine, re wired the entire boat, added wind generator/solar panels, water maker, SSB/Ham radio, VHF radio, radar, chart plotter, depth sounder, AIS, refrigeration, all new running rigging, insulated and put up ceiling panels, installed new LED cabin lights, designed and built a hard dodger, re pained the hull.
We sailed down to Mexico from Canada Sept 10, 2009. In first year we sailed the Sea of Cortez up to Bahia Conception, the following year we sailed south to Manzanillo, but La Paz kept calling us back. We now call Marina Palmira, La Paz BCS our home.
